Kukri clad Cheadle have won the double after pulling off an amazing comeback to be crowned the new northern Senior Flags champions for the first time since 2003.

It's also the first time they have won anything since our very own Phil Lynch stopped playing for them! It would appear you have been missed Lynchy!!

The Kukri kitted boys beat Stockport 9-8 in the final at Rochdale after trailing 7-2 midway through the third quarter.

A fine goal from Daren Baythorpe levelled the match with time almost up and then midfielder Paul Flowers netted a superb winner with seconds left.

Coach Peter Condron commented: "What a game of lacrosse. It was a great game, but to come back from 7-2 was a special effort. We always had belief in the players, I'm so proud of what they've achieved this season, this and the league."
