Glentoran racked up an impressive win at New Grosvenor at the weekend - they were irresistable as they brushed aside Lisburn Distillery 5-0!
There was little sign of what was to come in the first half, a dull opening to the game seeing a string of missed opportunities. The Glens finally broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time, Ciaran Martyn slotting home after Richard Clarke's shot was blocked in the area.
Colin Nixon extended the lead ten minutes into the second half, before Gary Hamilton headed home to seal the points on 58 minutes. Hamilton added a fourth with quarter of an hour remaining, and substitue David Howland put the icing on the cake on 85 minutes.
This was a fantastic win for the Glens who occupy 3rd place in the Carling Premiership. Next up, they entertain Portadown in the Irn-Bru League Cup on Wednesday at the Oval. COYG!
